š” Please only come to the station after taking the steps on ā£
</aside>
How is this station different from the others?
- Buses from various companies arrive here, often also during nighttime
- At the ZOB, there is not much space, and to work here, we need to be as cooperative and as coordinated as possible. Please read through the following points before you arrive on your shift, so you already know a bit of what to expect š
- ZOB is a location with bus traffic, so please stay off the roads for safety.
- Do not drive with your car into the ZOB area, and also do not park in front of the entry gate
- Toilets: the toilet for the disabled can be used. Please use the tally to count the uses, the key is in the doormanās front. If the door remains open, be sure to keep a tally!
- Security There will be 4 police officers on site around the clock
Arriving as a volunteer
<aside>
š” Even though it might feel natural, avoid directly jumping into action, and instead wait until you g by the already present volunteers. We all should avoid sending conflicting or mixed messages.
</aside>
- Go in front of the arrival hall (see map below), and try to assess the situation for yourself
- If the hall is super crowded and the situation seems stressful, do not enter immediately, but wait a little bit and talk to volunteers outside (in case they are not super busy).
- If you feel the situation is clear, enter the hall and go to the āVolunteer Registrationā desk.
- There, you will
- be asked again for your language skills, and what else you want to offer
- receive a yellow vest (please return it at the end of the shift)
- get assigned to a team where you can help, see the different team types below.
